Guys, Lindsay Lohan Has a New Single- New Music Reviews

I had every intention to review some Ingrid Andress, maybe some new Madison Beer, new Drake, Troye Sivan... but...then I saw that Lindsay Lohan released a song.

Guys, Lindsay Lohan has a new single.

I was scouring through Spotify's New Music Friday playlist and then I saw it: Lindsay Lohan released new music. Wait. Lindsay Lohan? Like "Mean Girls", "Parent Trap", "Freaky Friday" Lindsay Lohan?

She's still releasing music?

Well, I guess so.

So, my first thought then was- "this has got to suck". (Sorry, should've kept that thought in a burn book).

But let me tell you, it's not *as* bad as anticipated. Listen, it's pretty catchy- the beat and melody that is, released by Republic Records, produced by Mark Ralph and written by Ralph, Alma and Chiara Hunter.

However, the message and lyrics get a D- in my opinion with shallow verses such as "I used to blame me when shit got crazy, I can't think too much 'bout what they say, And now these Sundays got me feeling like Mondays". Lyrics like this make me give an exaggerated eye-roll.

Lohan teased the song last week on Twitter and Instagram with the caption “I’m back!” and later revealed the reasoning behind the single: “The song is about rediscovering and accepting oneself, shutting out the noise and moving forward and letting the past go. Living in the now,” she wrote.

Clearly, the 33-year-old singer/actress is trying to make a point in this club banger. She is no longer going to take what people say about her. She's "coming back to me", which I guess means that she's not going to care anymore her past and be happy with who she really is. But with lyrics "I know I drink too much, but it's okay", scares me a bit of who she thinks she is or what is important about her.

Let me be clear, I'm not in the business of bashing anybody's creative work and frown upon super critical reviews if they are not constructive. I just have a feeling that this single wouldn't be as big of a deal (or backed by a major label) if it weren't sung by the infamous red head.

Supposedly, an album release is in the works for later this year.

Good thing about this song? It's a great beat to get your mind off of what is going on (aka- Corona) and maybe having an in-home dance party. Maybe over Zoom.

But tell me what you think. Is it a bop or flop?
